Get Involved

Neighbors cleaning the Midtown Greenway.

Join Us!

The Whittier neighborhood is constantly changing. Our neighborhood is stronger, safer and more interesting when residents and businesses participate in the discussions and decisions and help facilitate the change. Your voice and your actions do make a difference. There are both large and small ways to get involved. Any way you participate, you will meet people who, like you, are interested in making Whittier a better place.

Organize through the Whittier Alliance

Opportunities for involvement include: attending events and meetings and voicing your views, helping to organize events and initiatives, walking with the Whittier Walkers, joining a task force, flyering for meetings or events, being a block contact, sponsoring a block clean-up or history tour, attending or helping with fundraisers, mentoring neighborhood youth, and much more!

You can also create your own opportunity. If you have an idea on how to improve your block or the neighborhood at large, let us know and we can help you organize it! Examples of past Whittier Alliance sponsored activities include: the May Day Soiree benefit for the Whittier neighborhood, clean up efforts, gardening opportunities, a family fair, dog events, and more.

Speak on a topic at a Community Issues or Business Association meeting

Starting a garden club? Parking enforcement? Discuss a new idea and potentially collaborate with other neighbors at the Communities Issues or Business Association meetings. Go to the home page, or view our calendar, for meeting information.
