Water Assistance

The Water Assistance Program allows payment to be made towards outstanding water bill for Hennepin County residents whose income does not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Water and sewer utility bills, which are not payable through the Energy Assistance Program - are paid when the amount owed threatens housing stability. Housing stability is deemed threatened either by the disconnection of those utilities, which could lead to eviction, or through the attachment of a lien on the homeowner's property, which could result in foreclosure. priority will be given to senior citizens, disabled, or families with children under the age of 5. Households will be eligible for a one-time payment for unpaid water bills or sewer bills for the program duration. For questions and information: call 952-697-1393 or visit https://caphennepin.org/what-we-do/water-assistance.html

Energy Assistance Program

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps pay for home heating costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households. EAP is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Grants are: For renters or homeowners. For households with income at or below 50 percent of the state median income. Application deadline is extended until May 31, 2021 https://caphennepin.org/what-we-do

Energy Conservation Program

The Energy Conservation program helps low-income families and individuals improve the energy efficiency of their residencies, in order to lower energy bills. It is free to those who qualify, and can include energy audits, assistance with furnace repair and replacement and home weatherization. If you qualify, our energy conservation technicians will identify and conduct the most cost-effective, energy-saving measures for your home. This may include: Installing insulation, reducing air infiltration, performing heating tune-ups and modifications, replacing appliances for energy efficiency and safety
