Resources for Detained Neighbors
If you are an observer who was detained:
Invoke your right to remain silent. State: “I will not answer any questions without my lawyer present.”
Demand a legal phone call. Call National Lawyers Guild Hotline: 612-444-2654.
If you would like an in-person visit from an attorney, you must state to agents at Whipple that you want a visit from an attorney that you have “retained” or “hired” through the National Lawyers Guild and Legal Rights Center.
Don’t sign anything or verbally agree to waive your rights.
If you are seeking representation for a neighbor who was detained and is not a citizen:
Call National Lawyers Guild Hotline: 612-444-2654.
Call the CAIR MN intake line: 612-206-3360
Call the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota intake line: 651-641-1011
If you are looking for a private attorney to represent the case, you can use this database.
If a neighbor is detained by ICE and their car is left behind, you can call Leo’s Tow to pick up and drop off their vehicle for free. Call 651-703-4914. If their car is towed to a City of Minneapolis lot, it will be released to their owner or representative at no cost.
Medical Resources for Rapid Responders
If you have been pepper sprayed: Flush with water or saline ONLY. Ideally use lots of water first, then saine at the end for soothing.
If you have been tear gassed: Tear gas is a crystalline solid, so as soon as possible/when it’s safe, remove all affected clothing and discard. If totally necessary you may wash with degreasers like Dawn dish soap after letting them hang in a ventilated area for 48 hours. Flush eyes and affected skin area with water. Contacts should be removed ONLY by someone not affected by the tear gas, avoid removal if you yourself have contaminant on your hands.

How to Make ICE Reports
Text or call MONARCA 612-441-2881 or COPAL 612-249-8736 with this “1SALUTE” relevant information. (Tip: save these #s in your phone favorites to find them quickly)
Only call Monarca if you see ICE agents gathering, staging, or raiding. Do not call Monarca for sightings of ICE vehicles—use rapid response networks for that.
