About CAP-HC:
Created in 1986, Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County (CAP-HC) works to establish services, programs, and partnerships that address poverty and increase family and economic stability in our communities
They strive to improve the quality of life in Hennepin County by providing opportunities to individuals and families that will help them identify and overcome economic barriers.
Programs
Energy Assistance Program
Assists income-eligible households maintain affordable, continuous and safe home energy by providing financial assistance towards energy and heating bills. To request an application call 952-930-3541` or visit caphennepin.org/eap. Financial Literacy Workshops
The workshops provide households with the tools they need to become more financially secure. Topics covered include: budgeting, reducing debt, building assets, building good credit, and fraud/identity theft protection. To learn more, visit caphennepin.org/finaciallit. Forclosure Prevention Services
CAP-HC's Foreclosure Prevention Services help homeowners who are in danger of losing their home due to foreclosure. Services include: Early delinquency intervention, budget counseling, lender negotiation and referrals. To schedule an appointment call 952-933-1993. Home Maintenance, Repair & Rehab
Post-purchase services provide home maintenance counseling services to help residents find and select contracts for repair and rehab issues. For assistance call 952-697-1310. Legal Services
CAP-HC holds monthly legal clinics at locations throughout Hennepin County to provide income-eligible clients with the opportunity to speak with a volunteer attorney. CAP-HC's Navigators offer in-person application assistance with MNsure to determine eligibility for Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, Tax Credits, and Qualified Health Care Plans. To make an appointment, call 952-695-1367. Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)

Family Assets for Independence in Minnesota (FAIM)
FAIM helps income-eligible participants build assets and save money towards the purchase of a home, state of a business, or pursuit of higher education for themselves or a dependent. CAP-HC helps individuals and families apply for the county-administered Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), providing them with financial assistance to purchase food. To make an appointment, call 952-697-1354 or visit caphennepin.org/snap. Home Buyer Education & Counseling
The program helps home buyers understand the road to homeownership. The educational workshops cover everything from client's financial situations, mortgage application process, to the rights and responsibilities of owning a home. The program assists individuals who are homeless and in shelter. The program helps participants move into safe, affordable housing and provides case management services to obtain basic needs. For more information call 952-933-9639. Life-to-Work/Vehicle Repair Program
Life-to-Work focuses on assisting residents of Hennepin County overcome transportation barriers. The program addresses the high cost of vehicle repairs by providing income eligible clients with financial assistance towards auto repairs to ensure their vehicle is safe and reliable. A reverse mortgage allows homeowners 62 years of age and older to convert their home equity into cash to use for health care, home repairs, or to meet daily living expenses. For more information, call 952-697-1326. Tax Assistance & Preperation
