Please join Councilmember Lisa Bender and the Ward 10 neighborhood organizations on Thursday, November 10th for a community conversation around safety and policing. This will be a chance for ward 10 constituents to hear about recent and proposed investments in the city’s police department including body cameras, implicit bias and de-escalation training and hiring diversity strategies.
City staff will be on hand to share what steps city departments are taking to curb violence and crime from a holistic public health perspective. You will have the opportunity to weigh in and provide your thoughts on this topic in general as well as give feedback about budget proposals that include innovative and creative approaches to public safety. Featured speakers will include community advocates and city staff.

Public hearings on the proposed budget and the City Council’s marked-up budget are scheduled for November 30 and December 7 beginning at 6:05 at City Hall.
