The Whittier Alliance is an independent non-profit organization that works on behalf of all residents, businesses, and property owners to build and maintain a flourishing and distinctive neighborhood. Donations of all kinds and sizes make it possible for Whittier Alliance to advance neighborhood goals, promote livability, and reinvest in our own community. You and your contribution are essential to our work!
2017 Highlights & Accomplishments
• Over $35,000 in grant funding awarded to organizations serving Whittier youth
• The Ward 10 Candidate Forum supported stakeholders’ ability to cast well-informed votes in the 2017 elections
• Collected and published data on housing affordability and subsidized housing in Whittier.
• Sustainability efforts such as trash clean-ups and free bike tune-ups promote neighborhood well-being
• Strategic support for businesses and organizations impacted by the 35-W and other area construction projects
• The Great Whittier Summer Get Together fostered community through arts activities, dancing, and free ice cream
• The Whittier Farmer’s Market attracted and served over 4600 people in its 2nd year
• Promoted positive engagement opportunities between the public and Minneapolis Police Department through the Bike Patrol program
