Zeus Jones believes innovation starts with people, not technology or process. As their business expanded, they chose to move to Whittier. Every year, they create a gift for all their clients. Last year, that gift was the Eat Street Cookbook, “From Eat Street, with Love.” It was also a gift for the Whittier Alliance. The book was sold online and at Greater Goods and Magers and Quinn. Zeus Jones donated the proceeds of the cookbook to the Whittier Alliance, which will help fund neighborhood events and projects.
Helpful, patient, and environmentally conscious, owner Jamie McDonald and the crew at Sunrise Cyclery are a tremendous asset to Whittier. Many of their bike parts and accessories are inexpensive, and they sometimes give them away for free. Sunrise offers free bike mechanic tutorials for anyone, no matter your age or biking know-how. They co-hosted the Whittier Bike Fair last fall where they offered free bike tune-ups, food, and resources for the neighborhood. Jamie volunteered several hours of his time to fix up over 40 bikes for free at the Caffeine & Kickstands event last summer that was co-hosted by Whittier Alliance and Spyhouse. Whittier is lucky to have such a wonderful, community-oriented business.
